For the past few months the team at Downing Street Garage has been working with the City of Denver's Department of Environmental Health on creating a fully functional Environmental Management System (EMS) that operates according to the ISO 14001 standards. This has been our goal since entering the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) at the Silver Level in 2008 (criteria for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels are available at www.cdphe.state.co.us/el/elp/elphome.html). Having a fully operational, facility-specific EMS is one of the criteria for attaining Gold Level certification with the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program.
City of Denver and Downing Street Garage Partner on EMS
Downing Street Garage is committed to environmental stewardship and earned a Silver Level Designation from Colorado's Environmental Leadership Program. What this means to you is that we live and work responsibly and employ a detailed Environmental Policy which shows our commitment to environmental stewardship with goals to lessen our carbon footprint in energy, water usage and recycling; achieving certifications that go beyond compliance; and communicating our commitment to our customers, employees, vendors and the community.
Rebecca Kirchdorfer, Co-owner, Downing Street Garage, joins 10 other influential community and business leaders in this year's class of inductees to Girl Scouts of Colorado's Women of Distinction program. The Denver metro-area honorees were selected by their peers and chosen based on their contributions to the community, both professionally and personally. The Women of Distinction commit to supporting Girl Scouts of Colorado and serving Girl Scouts today.
"We believe that DSG shows significant leadership and has made an impact in our community.
